Install your eSIM on an Android phone
Written for Android 16. Menu names vary between phone makers. Have a Samsung or a Pixel? Their own guides are more exact.
Before you start
- Install it at home, on Wi-Fi, before you travel. The install needs internet.
- Keep your order page open: it has your install link, QR code and codes. Find your order
- Your phone must support eSIM and not be locked to a carrier. Check your phone

Option 1: one tap on the phone itself
The quickest way, on Android 10 and later.
- Open your order page on the phone you'll travel with.
- Tap Install on this phone. The phone's eSIM set-up opens.
- Confirm, and follow the steps under “While it installs”.
Option 2: scan the QR code
- Open your order page on another screen, such as a computer or tablet.
- On the phone, open Settings and find the SIM settings. They're usually under Network & internet › SIMs, Connections › SIM manager or Mobile networks.
- Choose to add an eSIM (Add eSIM, Add SIM or Download a SIM), then scan the QR code on your order page.
Option 3: enter the details by hand
Use this if you can't scan, for example if you only have the one phone.
- Start adding an eSIM, as in option 2.
- When the camera opens, look for Enter code, Enter it manually or Need help?, and enter the activation code. If the phone asks for the SM-DP+ address separately, enter that too.
- Copy your details from here:

While it installs
- Name the line landfall if the phone offers, so it's easy to find.
- If the phone asks which SIM to use for calls, messages or mobile data, keep your usual SIM for now.
- Leave the landfall line switched off until you land.
When you land
- In your SIM settings, switch the landfall line on.
- Turn on Roaming (or Data roaming) for the landfall line. Travel eSIMs always roam, even where the network is local.
- Set the landfall line as your mobile data SIM.
- Give it a minute to find a network. Still nothing? Turn Aeroplane mode on, wait ten seconds, and turn it off.
Didn't work?
- It says "No SIM" or "SIM not supported": Will a Landfall eSIM work on my phone?
- No data after landing: It isn't connecting. What should I check?
- Not sure when your days start: When do my days start?
- The code was refused, or the install stopped halfway: don't try the code again. Contact us with your order number and a screenshot.
