Install your eSIM on a Samsung Galaxy

Written for One UI 8 (Android 16). Older versions use the same SIM manager, with small differences in wording.

Before you start

  • Install it at home, on Wi-Fi, before you travel. The install needs internet.
  • Keep your order page open: it has your install link, QR code and codes. Find your order
  • Your phone must support eSIM and not be locked to a carrier. Check your phone

Option 1: one tap on the phone itself

The quickest way, on Android 10 and later.

  1. Open your order page on the phone you'll travel with.
  2. Tap Install on this phone. The phone's eSIM set-up opens.
  3. Tap Add or Confirm, and follow the steps under “While it installs”.

Option 2: scan the QR code

  1. Open your order page on another screen, such as a computer or tablet.
  2. On the phone, open Settings › Connections › SIM manager.
  3. Tap Add eSIM, then Scan QR code.
  4. Point the camera at the QR code on your order page, then confirm.

Option 3: enter the details by hand

Use this if you can't scan, for example if you only have the one phone.

  1. Open Settings › Connections › SIM manager › Add eSIM.
  2. Choose Enter activation code (on some versions, tap Scan QR code first, then Enter code instead).
  3. Copy your details from here:

Open this guide from your order page to copy your own, or find your order.

While it installs

  1. Name the line. When the phone shows the new SIM, tap it and name it landfall.
  2. Primary SIM questions (calls, messages, mobile data): keep your usual SIM for all three for now.
  3. If the phone asks whether to switch the new SIM on, choose not now, or switch it off in SIM manager afterwards. Leave it off until you land.

When you land

  1. Open Settings › Connections › SIM manager, and switch landfall on.
  2. In the same screen, under Primary SIM, set Mobile data to landfall.
  3. Open Settings › Connections › Mobile networks, and turn on Data roaming. Travel eSIMs always roam, even where the network is local.
  4. Give it a minute to find a network. Still nothing? Turn Aeroplane mode on, wait ten seconds, and turn it off.
